Quality and delivery standards that are classed by customers as 'excellent' is the ambition of many. In May, our Aalberts surface technologies location Cheltenham was presented with an SC21 Silver Award by leading players in the aerospace industry for achieving precisely that. 

 

The award is part of the SC21 programme, which is supported by the British Government and aims to boost the competitiveness of companies within the UK supply chain across the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries. Businesses involved include Airbus, BAE Systems, Bombardier, GE Aviation, Lockhead Martin, Rolls Royce, and Thales UK.  

 

"The SC21 programme has helped Aalberts surface technologies in Cheltenham to maintain focus on continuous improvement, quality and delivery, people development, empowerment and customer feedback, especially from our top-10 key accounts. And all are measured by our monthly KPIs," explains Sallyanne Hale, Quality Manager at Aalberts surface technologies. “To achieve this award, we had to maintain delivery standards between 95% and 99%, and quality standards above 99.5%.” 

 

The company, which is focused on growth, is now working towards the next SC21 submission, and remains determined to achieve Silver again. “We would like to thank everyone involved in helping us achieve four SC21 Silver Awards so far, from site level to management, as this is very much a team effort,” says Steve Sherwood, Works Manager. “What we accomplish is only possible with the support and backing of everyone!”

Earlier this year, Aalberts surface technologies Telford have been presented with a supplier excellence award from precision technologies group UK (PTG). As a top 10 supplier to PTG, Telford was nominated for their continued outstanding quality and service in the supply of heat treated components. Aalberts surface technologies Telford have promised to work continually with PTG to minimise costs, deliver on quality and service and further deliver on product improvements.
